I am now able to publish the speech made by former Brent Council employee Dyelia Morgan at the recent Harlesden Connects meeting. As Dyelia was delivering her heartfelt message Cllr Muhammed Butt ignored her to the disgust of many residents. Instead he sat with his companion Cllr Krupa Sheth, giggling over their ipad.

Dyelia Morgan said:
Ladies and Gentlemen, good evening. My name is Dyelia Morgan and I am a former employee of Brent Council, having worked as a Manager in Children Services. I have worked for Brent for 27 years and I took early retirement in 2013 on the grounds of ill health. I am taking this opportunity to publicly express my anger,  disappointment and dismay at the Council and Senior Management in Brent for not taking appropriate action to deal with the bullying, harassment, racial discrimination and constructive  dismissal of Rosemarie Clarke  - as found at the recent Watford Employment Tribunal.
As a Brent resident I do not want my council tax payments to fund an appeal against this fair judgement, especially as I believe that this is something that the Council cannot win.
She went on to say that as a Brent resident she wanted to know what action was being taken against Cara Davani (Head of Human Resources) and said that she did not understand why a manager found to have racially discriminated against an employee continued to be employed by the Council. She asked why no disciplinary action had been taken against her.

She went on:
As a broader issue, I call upon those responsible in the council to conduct an Independent investigation into exactly what is going on within the Brent Human Resources Service, as I am aware that staff who remain within the Council under Cara Davani are afraid of repercussions if they speak out.  I am not confident that Councillor Pavey is sufficiently independent enough for the truth about what is going on to be fully exposed.  Thank you for listening.
Of course, according to witnesses, Muhammed Butt was not listening. This contrasted with his appearance at the Wembley Connects. He missed the contribution of Christine Collins, another former employee, who had also condemned the Council over its actions. Cllr Krupa Sheth invited him to comment on the issue and he told the audience that the Council had to follow 'due process'. He lost his temper when the audience questioned this.

It has now emerged that Cllr Ruth Moher, Cabinet member for Children and Young People, is a member of the Employment Appeals Tribunal at London Central Regional Tribunal.
